Unreleased 1978 Quincy Collection

Here’s something from the vaults. This is a recently discovered copy of the demo that Quincy recorded at CBGB’s in 1978. It was the recording that helped the band get its record deal with Columbia Records.

It’s live and raw and what the band really sounded like compared to the actual record made in 1980. Some never released songs are on this recording too.

Here’s the running order.

  1. 1. Always in the News
  2. 2. Can’t Live in a Dream
  3. 3. Modern Man
  4. 4. Privileged Few
  5. 5. Salvation Fantasy
  6. 6. Star Rover

PS: for those of you who are unfamiliar with Quincy, it’s the band the Butler brothers were in right before Smash Palace. Quincy band members were

Gerald Emerick vocals and bass

Brian Butler vocals.

Steve Butler guitar and vocals.

Wally Smith keys

Bob Holden drums

    I want it!

I found this high enjoyable. Thanks for making available Stephen! Still hoping for that long elusive QUINCY live broadcast of a complete show I've been hearing about (and dreaming of for the past 30 years)!
